Bentley adds more power and speed to the Continental GT Speed

Like the name suggests, the Bentley Continental GT Speed isn’t a car which ever left drivers wanting for more power, acceleration or outright speed. But that hasn’t stopped Bentley from going and adding more of everything across the board.

Bentley has given the Continental GT Speed’s 6.0L W12 engine an extra 5kW (7hp) of power for 472kW (633hp) in total, while torque has also been increased to 841Nm (620lb-ft). This means it’ll now hit 100km/h (60mph) in 3.9 seconds, before going on to a top speed of 331km/h (206mph) – or the fastest production model Bentley ever built. Bentley say that torque has been increased throughout the entire rev range thanks to careful the optimisation of boost control, meaning the GT gives you the full 841Nm (620lb-ft) or torque from 2,000rpm all the way up to 5,000rpm.

Bentley have also introduced the ‘Black Edition’, which sees the regular GT Speed’s chrome elements replaced with high-gloss black detailing, 21″ gloss black wheels, plus gloss-black front and rear diffusers and side skirts.

As a side note, it currently takes Bentley 110 hours to hand-build each Continental GT, with the engine alone requiring 30 engineers and over 12 hours to build.
