Skoda VisionS CUV Concept shown

Skoda, Volkswagen’s slightly quirky cousin, has a rather interesting lineup of cars each with their own unique brand of styling. However, apart from the Yeti small SUV, they’re currently don’t have a CUV style vehicle in the range – which isn’t a good thing when you consider just how popular vehicles of that type are right now. Skoda must have realised this, as they’ve now come up with a VisionS CUV concept vehicle, which will be shown at this year’s Geneva Motor Show.

The VisionS is as crossover-y as a crossover can be. Based on Volkswagen’s MQB platform, it features a classic two-box design. At 4693mm long, it’s almost exactly the same length as a Mitsubishi Outlander, and it’s only slightly wider at 1908mm. The overall size of the VisionS means that it’ll still fit comfortably on European roads, while offering more cabin space (and seating) than he Octavia Estate.

The cabin features three separate rows of seats with room for six passengers, although due to the size of the vehicle the occupants might feel slightly cramped. The VisionS is still very much a compact CUV.

Just like the majority of other concept vehicles today, the VisionS features a plug-in hybrid system, which consists of a 115kW (154hp) 1.4L turbocharged petrol engine up front, teamed with a 40kW (54hp) electric motor. That’s a total of 155kW (208hp), which Skoda say is good enough for a 0-100km/h (62hope) time of 7.4 seconds.
