We thought we’d put a list together of some of his most outrageous antics…

Outrage over Jeremy Clarkson’s ‘sick’ prostitutes joke

November 2008 – Jeremy Clarkson made a joke about lorry drivers murdering prostitutes during an episode of Top Gear. Complaining about the lorry driver’s need to constantly change gear in order to get up to speed, he said: “Change gear, change gear, change gear, check the mirror, murder a prostitute, change gear, change gear, murder.  That’s a lot of effort in a day.”

The comment was in reference to Suffolk Strangler Steven Wright, a former trucker who murdered five prostitutes in Ipswich in 2006. Despite numerous complaints to the BBC and Ofcom, and a call from an MP for him to lose his job, Jeremy gave only a mock apology on the following week’s show. But it didn’t end here…

Jeremy Clarkson sparks outrage among British Black Muslim Lesbians

October 2009 – Jeremy Clarkson caused, you guessed it, outrage, by ridiculing TV bosses for being obsessed with having “black Muslim lesbians” on TV shows to balance out the number of white heterosexual men. His comments followed on from the Strictly Come Dancing row over Anton Du Beke branding his partner Laila Rouass a “Paki”.

Jeremy Clarkson sparks outrage with George Michael personally

March 2010 – While reviewing a Jaguar XKR-S in a Top Gear episode, Jeremy said “It’s very fast and very, very loud. And then in the corners it will get its tail out more readily than George Michael.” This was in reference to openly-gay popstar George Michael recently being arrested for exposing himself to a man in a public toilet in Beverly Hills. Afterwards, George took to Twitter to condemn Jeremy for the homophobic joke at his expense. The quip came after Michael’s Twitter jokey campaign that Top Gear needs to be “camper”. Responding to the episode, Michael wrote: “Good grief Mr.Clarkson, I wasn’t implying your towering heterosexuality was in question. I had no desire to insult you!”

“But I do now, you pig-ugly homophobic twat!!!!!”

Jeremy Clarkson sparks outrage among Burka & G-string wearing women

July 2010 – Jeremy got himself into trouble by making a joke about a woman in a burka wearing a red g-string while discussing dangerous driving conditions on TopGear. The joke didn’t upset anyone – oh, except for Lily Allen, who tweeted that the joke was “distasteful”. Fine form, Jeremy.

Outrage as Jeremy Clarkson refers to the Ferrari 430 Speciale as “430 Speciale needs”

July 2011 – During an episode of TopGear, Jeremy was comparing two Ferrari’s and described the older one as a ‘simpleton’ that should be called the ‘430 Speciale needs’ instead of it’s real name ‘430 Speciale’, which prompted a backlash from the National Autistic Society.

Jeremy Clarkson sparks outrage among the Mexican community

April 2012 – The BBC was forced to apologise to the Mexican ambassador after Jeremy branded Mexicans “lazy”, “feckless” and “flatulent” in an episode of Top Gear. Ofcom received 157 complaints about the comments on the BBC2 show, which viewers complained were derogatory, cruel, xenophobic, discriminatory and racist. Harden up people.

Jeremy Clarkson sparks outrage with crass Stuart Hall sex abuse joke

May 2013 – Jeremy Tweeted to over 1.7million fans: “Can I just say that I’ve worked at the BBC for 24 years and in all that time no-one has ever tried to put his finger in my bottom.” Peter Saunders, of the National Association for People Abused in Childhood, said: “Jeremy Clarkson is well known for coming out with real nonsense like this. “I don’t think he realises the seriousness of the issue he is making fun of,” he said, speaking to the Daily Star. “If Stuart Hall or somebody of his ilk had got his hands on one of Jeremy Clarkson’s relatives, he might think twice. “He should keep his head down.”

The tweet came just days after the It’s A Knockout presenter was exposed as an “opportunistic predator” who abused 13 schoolgirls at the height of his fame. The ex-BBC football commentator last week admitted 14 indecent assaults on girls aged nine to 17 over 18 years. A “freestanding investigation” has now been launched into how broadcaster Stuart Hall was able to abuse girls while working at the BBC, which will feed into Dame Janet Smith’s Jimmy Savile inquiry. Smith’s inquiry was set up to conduct a review into the BBC’s practices during the Savile era.

Outrage as Jeremy Clarkson jokes about cancer

September 2013 – Jeremy had just completed a bike ride in west London when he tweeted the remark that horrified literally tens of people. Jeremy took to Twitter after cycling through posh Kensington to say “Just did the Ken High St, Ken Church Street junction. Which was extremely frightening. A bus just gave me cancer.”

Some people failed to see the funny side – with one even responding: “You horrible bastard! You’re supposed to be a role model & you say stuff like that? No respect.” Another, Josh Benfield, said: “Grow up and stop using cancer as a joke, you are messed in the head, stick to cars not comedy.” And cancer survivor Kerri Willmott Wood, 36, from Royston, Herts, said: “Jeremy Clarkson’s brain is definitely not ‘Top Gear’. Making flippant comments about the seriousness of an often fatal disease like cancer is no joke.”

Jeremy Clarkson sparks outrage with Malaysian Airlines flight MH370 comments

March 2014 – Jeremy Clarkson has caused outrage yet again on Twitter after sharing a picture of oxygen masks on a plane not long after it was announced that the Malaysia Airlines flight MH370 had likely crashed into the Indian Ocean leaving no survivors.

The ‘Top Gear’ presenter – who is no stranger to controversy – posted the snap of the emergency oxygen masks to his official Twitter page, along with the caption: “The oxygen masks have deployed. Goodbye everyone.”

While some immediately branded the joke as tasteless, others actually used their brains and realised that since he was aboard a plane at the time, he hadn’t heard the most recent announcement about flight MH370, which were announced just hours before his tweet.

Yeah and please don’t change…politically correctness is the single greatest killer in Europe, the dormant continent that shaped the world right now is infested with this virus that is killing.
We need more free thinker and talker like him.

I could not agree with you more. With the passage of time it would seem that we are losing the freedom to say whats on our minds and freedom to express ourselves honestly. It’s sad really.
