Bugatti Vision Gran Turismo concept

Bugatti has released renders of an all-new concept supercar that they suggest is a signpost to the future direction of its vehicles. It’s called the Vision Gran Turismo concept, and as the name suggests it is a car that Bugatti has designed for their fans to get behind the wheel of in Gran Turismo 6.

The Bugatti Vision Gran Turismo concept is said to represent “the new form and design language developed by the brand to celebrate the next chapter in its history following the end of the Veyron era.”

Bugatti design boss Achim Anscheidt said: “The progressive design language will give an impressive demonstration of the path to be taken by Bugatti design over the next few years.”

While admitting that the Vision was “exaggerated and extremely performance-orientated” the new concept may provide some clues as to what the future successor to the Veyron might look like. In comparison to the current Veyron, it has a more prominent front grille but overall you could say the general shape of the car still remains fairly consistent. If you can visualise this car in your mind, only with the racing-style fixed rear wing arrangement, huge front splitter and side skirts stripped away, you can almost imagine that this is what the Veyron successor could look like.

On the insure, the Vision Gran Turismo concept looks to offer a similar space to the Veyron, but instead offering a stripped-out racing car feel against the Veyron’s luxurious mix of leather and some of the finest materials in the world. The concept also has a racing style steering wheel and a rather ridiculous digital dashboard, akin to something you might find in a fighter jet. But hey, concept cars always have to be a bit wacky, don’t they?

Aside from interpolating these renders, the only things we know about the Veyron’s replacement, the ‘Chiron’, is that it is likely to arrive some time in 2017 and at a substantially more expensive price – thought to be as much as $3.2 million. For all that hard earned cash, the Chiron should get a heavily-revised version of Bugatti’s 8.0L quad-turbo W16 engine, but with added hybrid power and there’s even the chance we might see electric-driven turbochargers – something the VW Group has spent a lot of money researching.

VW Group boss, Martin Winterkorn, has previously said that a hybrid Chiron would be offered alongside turbo-petrol models, and power is expected to be raised from the outgoing Veyron’s 883kW (1184bhp) to over 1100kW (1475bhp). In-line with these stratospheric numbers, the Chiron will once again almost certainly raise the bar for performance as it’s expected to hit 100km/h from standstill in less than 2.3 seconds and reach an incredible 464km/h.

As an avid player of Gran Turismo, I can’t begin to express my disgust at the VGTs. They are all rubbish (apart from the SRT Tomahawk X which is beyond comprehension). All VGTs handle exactly like concepts (appallingly that is to say), and the standard versions of the cars are miles better.

This VGT makes my skin crawl all the more because the standard Veyron in game is a junk pile, that only means that this will be worse (not to mention fuglier), I’ve owned 80% of all VGTs and the Tomahawk is the only one that has impressed me.

On a side note: The price for all VGTs is 1 million credits (which isn’t too much), however on of them is a mini. A mini worth 1 mil lol. Not to mention that the regualr one is about 230K (tuning included) and is way better to drive. That’s why it’s best to win them from the Season events for free.
