Lamborghini breaks sales record in 2015

Italian supercar manufacturer Lamborghini is selling more cars now than ever. In 2015, the exotic automaker sold a record 3,245 vehicles worldwide and is now expanding their operations in order to meet the growing demand. The growth in sales has resulted in the hiring of 150 new workers, bringing Lamborghini’s total to 1,300 employees. Over 600 new workers have joined the company in the last five years.

The Lamborghini Huracan has proven to be a huge shot in the arm for the manufacturer and is currently their best-selling model. The Huracan will also have a heavy presence in motorsports around the world in the 2016 season, and more recently a rather hot looking Spyder version recently joined the lineup.

Lamborghini’s next and most important step will be the release of their upcoming Urus SUV, which is set to go into production in 2018. The Urus is important because it will diversify Lamborghini’s range – and attract buyers who are after supercar performance without the drawbacks. The Urus is expected to boost sales in 2018, and if all goes to plan Lamborghini will have doubled the size of its factory and brought on another 500 new employees.

“Lamborghini is experiencing strong, steady growth in sales and also in its workforce,” said Stephan Winkelmann, President and CEO of Automobili Lamborghini. “We are getting ready for ground breaking changes with the introduction of our third model in 2018, which points to stable, sustainable growth for our company.”
