50 Cent says he can save Top Gear

With Chris Evans bowing out after just one season of the refreshed Top Gear, he leaves behind his cohost, Matt LeBlanc. While the BBC says that it has no immediate plans to change the line-up or add a new host, noted musician 50 Cent thinks that he would be a valuable addition to the team.

The rapper and sometimes-actor, whose real name is Curtis James Jackson III, is a fan of the show and watched the refreshed season when it aired on TV in the U.S., according to the Daily Star. Like many of us, he wasn’t impressed. He told the newspaper:

“I would love to work on Top Gear, I could save that show for sure, but it would cost them…There ain’t a car I haven’t owned over the years, my car collection is as good as anybody’s out there…

Top Gear was one of the world’s iconic shows and it’s a shame it came to this… The show since the old team left has been unrecognizable and if it don’t get back to where is should be soon then it may never recover… It’s a show you know you can watch any country you are in.”

It’s true, his car collection is impressive. Fiddy, who filed for bankruptcy last year, for now owns and has owned a couple of Lamborghini Murcielagos, a Rolls-Royce and a Bentley, to name a few.

I’m curious as to how he plans to save the show. I’m also curious as to how much he would cost the BBC. Yet, 50 Cent has proven that he is great on camera and has good interview skills. Maybe he’s onto something here.

US presenters in general are not like UK presenters (Evans is one exception though). Their jokes are hardly laughable. See some Motortrend US Vids, they are trying to mimic old TG and ended up creating boring Car videos. LeBlanc is not a great reviewer, he is okay and he is able to present in the studio. LeBlanc, Rory and Harris are avg car reviewers in my opinion.

All the new presenters in TG are nowhere near as Jeremy, Rich and James era.

Look, I’m sure he has great knowledge. However Top Gear is essentially UK presenters mostly, of course LeBlanc was the exception to that rule. LeBlanc has already established a rapport with the international market as 50 cent hasn’t. Owning cars isn’t the only requirement for the job. Clarkson, Hammond and May weren’t engineers or mechanics. They were die hard aficionados who always gave a great point about cars. Then there was always another presenter to give them a verbal bashing and a bit of banter. American rappers aren’t that mainstream in the international world, not at Top Gears level anyway.

If Trump can be the nominee for president of united states why not another bankrupt moron to host Top Gear. The United States of America, the country that attracted the best now producing the worst.
