BBC takes action to fix Top Gear’s awkward studio links

Some of the big wigs at the BBC are looking to fix Top Gear’s slightly awkward studio links, with reports revealing Strictly Come Dancing studio director Nikki Parsons will be brought in to help iron things out.

An insider told The Sun: “One main criticism of the new show is that the studio links aren’t as smooth as they could be. Nikki has worked on live TV with ‘Strictly’ for years, so she has been brought in to try to improve this.”

The BBC are hoping that if anyone can turn things around for Top Gear, it’ll be Nikki, who has a Bafta award under her belt for work on Strictly Come Dancing – a show which has gone from strength to strength in recent years. In comparison, Top Gear Series 23 was ripped apart by almost everyone when Chris Evans graced our screens last years, although critical reception has been somewhat more positive for Series 24 so far.

Prior to the debut of Series 24, Matt Le Blanc admitted he was ready to face any criticism, particularly after the mauling of last year’s series. “I’m certainly prepared for a lot of that to land in my frigging lap now! But we will see,” Le Blanc said.

“If people are going to throw rocks at whatever they want to throw rocks at, all you can do is hope they won’t hit you on the head!”
