Work Completed: Gaskets and main seals replaced to address oil leak. Color-coded aftermarket parts repainted black. Engine repainted blue. Non-working sunroof fixed by having a part of the sunroof assembly 3D printed. Federal bumpers converted to Euro-spec. New ceiling headliner installed. Interior re-upholstered from black/red to black/tan. Car repainted in black. Wheels repainted from silver to gold. New front grille and chin spoiler.

Notes: Previous owner upgraded the timing gears with aftermarket aluminium units. Plastic clips required for sunroof function were 3D printed since Ford no longer produced such parts for the Capri. Ant converted the car’s bumpers to Euro-spec by fabricating the bumpers from steel tubes and plates. Second car in the series to sell at break even point.

As much as I like the idea of them doing a Capri on WD, this is the second time on the show when the final product has been less than ideal. Way back in the first season Edd worked on a Capri and botched the paint on the front panel, and this time it was Ant who botched the bumper replacement. Sure, the US spec bumpers were crap, but Ant’s attempt to manufacture his own just didn’t look right in the end. Also, the car needed a new paint color – black never suited a Capri.
