Prepping the Fuel System for BOOST! Ford AU Fairmont Ghia Turbo Project
In this episode of MotoringBox, we’re upgrading the fuel system in my AU Fairmont Ghia – which we’re going to be turbocharging in the near future. To fit in with the mission of using as much factory gear as possible, we’re replacing the fuel injectors, pressure regulator and pump – but leaving everything else as-is. The system now has a Walbro 460 fuel pump supplying the fuel, a Bosch 4-Bar FPR regulating the pressure, and Bosch/Raceworks 1000cc injectors delivering it into the engine. At 4-Bar, they actually flow 1120cc! Certain elements are a little overkill for the amount of boost we’ll be running, but who knows? At least we’re future proofing the car for wherever we may take it in the future.
