TopGearbox & MotoringBox merge

If you’re a TopGearbox.com user you’ve probably noticed your favourite Top Gear fansite is looking a bit different today. That’s because TopGearbox has now been merged with another website of mine, MotoringBox. For those of you who didn’t see the article on TopGearbox earlier in the week, I’ll explain again why this has been done.

From the onset I’d like to say the site ownership has not changed and it never will, plus the TopGearbox experience you all know and love has not changed dramatically either. MotoringBox will continue to be one of the best places online to find Top Gear news and updates – and here’s the reasons why I decided to merge them:

  • Clarkson, Hammond and May have moved on from Top Gear and are creating a brand new show, which means I would have needed to create a separate new website for that show anyway.
  • Existing Top Gear fans (you) will most likely want to follow both Clarkson’s new show and Chris Evans’ Top Gear reboot – meaning you would have needed to visit two separate websites.
  • Had I not merged the sites, I would have had to run TopGearbox, MotoringBox, a separate Wheeler Dealers fansite and a new site for Clarkson’s new show –  which sounded a bit too ambitious (and frankly, rubbish) to me.
  • I’ve always been interested in running a general car news and information website, why not combine them all together?

As you can see, MotoringBox has an ‘Entertainment’ section which is now a one stop shop for those wanting to catch up on the latest Clarkson Hammond and May, Top Gear and Wheeler Dealers television shows. All of the old content you’re used to has been moved across into a brand new Top Gear subcategory. All the old TopGearbox URL’s you’ve bookmarked or that are indexed in Google will automatically forward across to the new MotoringBox pages and articles, hopefully making the transition as painless as possible.

Now I understand that as human beings, most of you probably don’t like change – so all of this may come as unwelcome news. But I can promise you this – once you’ve gotten used to it, MotoringBox will be your ultimate one-stop-shop for the latest Top Gear and Clarkson Hammond and May information. I’ll continue to keep you up to date with news, episode guides and anything else I can gather – and I hope you’ll grow to like it. I’ve tried my best to port everything across and lay it out as delicately as possible, so I invite you to begin using MotoringBox and if you have any feedback please let me know.

Thanks for your support.

Looks good to me. I don’t mind a bit. Thanks for all the hard work.
