Wheeler Dealers

Wheeler Dealers to return in 2019 with 8 new episodes

Wheeler Dealers is set to return to UK screens in 2019, with an array of iconic second-hand cars in need of a second chance. In what will be the second half of Series 15, Mike Brewer and Ant Anstead will fix and flip a variety of unique used cars from their southern California shop.

In the new episodes, Mike set about finding vehicles that have the highest money-making potential. He then hands them over to Ant, who tackles everything from bare metal re-sprays to gearbox swaps to bring them back to their former glory. From the sunny beaches of southern California to the coldest edges of Maine, the series scours the US from coast-to-coast for the best vehicles to buy, restore, test and sell for a tidy profit.

As the new series kicks off, Mike finds a rare beast: a 1976 Mercury Capri MK2 with the classic 2.8 litre V6. However, it’s not without its problems, which means a lot of work for Ant.

Throughoutthe series, Mike and Ant will discover and restore a host of iconic cars, including a 1976 Mercury Capri MK2, 1995 Volvo 850 T-5R Wagon, 1991 Toyota MR2 Turbo, 2002 Corvette C5 Z06, 1991 Alfa Romeo 164L, 1983 Volkswagen Rabbit GTI, 2004 Dodge Ram SRT-10, and a 1991 Lotus Elan M100.

Wheeler Dealers will return exclusively to the UK on Discovery Channel at 9pm Monday 7th January 2019.

an B5 Audi S4 avant was for sale listed on Craigslist in the Los Angeles area, When I reached out for more info they would not divulge it, but photos were professionally taken and the background was 100% match with the Wheeler Dealers US shop both inside and out

Finally the voice of reason! Thank you Loz!
I didn’t expect to like the show without Edd, turns out I like Ant a lot. I also respect his varied background and that he was once a cop. I bought one of his books and it sits on my coffee table.
I don’t understand why I paid like $30 for season 20 and only got 6 episodes, on Amazon Prime. Clearly I would have bought them at $1.99 each if there were only going to be 6. Are there additional shows I have not received? It’s very annoying! I want my WD! I do worry about Mike maybe being away from his family. Maybe back and forth to the UK would be smart, although I understand Ant has a new baby with his wife Christina in the states.
These seem like all really nice people. I wish all the best for them and I hope we see more of WD! And yes, I too do like the explanations of the work done.

So, so sad to see this terrific show fall from grace into American TV “pap-land”! It seems there is no sphere of TV that can’t be made infinitely worse by the meddling of US TV executives.

Yeah totally agree far too many American car programs on. Don’t get me wrong some are ok but it’s not my cuppa tea. Maybe when mr brewer comes back home after his American adventure he might struggle to get work like this again after jumping ship. As for his mechanic you can’t really blame him he does his job and they edit all the good bits and leave us the trailer trash. And any hoo why can’t Ed China make his own program am sure there’s another guy out there who can buy cars for Ed to fix. Times change like our programs look at top gear 👍

Not loving the “New” episodes of the show. I think Ed and Ant are both great at what they do, Mike does his usual stuff, plus visits to local specialists. My problem is you don’t get to see half the stuff that is done to the car. When you see the price list at the end, there is stuff there that wasn’t even talked about.

The reason why Ed decided not to continue with WD was down to the production company wanted to cut back a lot of filming on the in-depth repairs & replacement parts fitted, which which was the whole premise of the show in the first place, to show the average man in the street could tackle these jobs. The outcome of this saved the film company a load of money, the accountants loved it ! but has resulted in a diluted version of WD for the viewers.

I have just read all the comments I thought it was just me but it looks like there are loads of us that would rather have Ed China back on the show,it’s not the same with out him, sorry to Ants but those boots you can not fill, the shows lay out and repair jobs have been rushed for what reason I don’t know but it’s spoiled the program,it needs to be Mike and Ed doing it like it used to be

There’s a lot of comments on here rubbishing the show now that Edd has left and it is filmed in the US. Having seen every episode of WD from Season 1 through to the most recent (that would be last night’s Merc 300TD here in the US) I would have to say that the quality of the show hasn’t changed that much. Yes, Edd was very good, but so is Ant. Sure, he has a different style but he knows his stuff. There were some dodgy episodes in the early series (the Suzuki SJ410 in Season 2, and the Mini Moke in Season 8 come to mind), and there are still some dodgy episodes now (the Dodge Ram SRT10 in Season 16 comes to mind), however the general look and feel of the show is little changed. I realize that Mike’s on screen persona sometimes rubs people the wrong way, but he is a genuinely good guy who puts in a lot of work off-camera on the show. The range of vehicles is still interesting, and although there are obviously a few more American cars than in the early seasons, there’s still plenty of European and Japanese vehicles to keep folks interested.

Watched the show for the first time with the new sidekick. Not in the same league as Ed China, serious charisma bypass

I reckon the problem is not Ant, he is good lets be honest, the problem is Michael B. He needs to go, he is second is having a second role in the show. Edd definitely we want you back AND PLEASE get the show back to UK and EUROPE we had enough with the Amercan ‘europian” cars
Thanks:)

Just watched one of the new series. The addition of the voiceover has destroyed the program, they are totally unnecessary, who dreamt this up? Who approved it? Heads should either roll of be reassigned to children’s programs (God help them!

Ed China is much better than Mike Brewer. Get rid of Mr boring Brewer and bring Ed back. He had the skills and the personality. Mr Brewer is just a glorified car salesman

Ed Dallo March 9, 2019 at 10:36 pm

The new tv add shows Edd China WITH Brewer in a car thats to make you all think Edd is in the show so you’d go watch it but you dont fool me i will not be watching this show ever again unless Edd is back in it

Not happy, the ad on the telly has Edd China in it and you are not back together, shows gone to pot. Bring back Edds mechanical explanations instead of the American style glossing over everything nonsence

When Edd still did the fettling seems they did a bit in the UK and then a bit in California…is this not the case now? I’d like to see them do a half and half season to be honest.

New series of wheeler dealers is rubbish you hardly see anything getting done you blink and the cars sold. Just watched the golf one and you see next to nothing car goes in bish bash bosh. A bit welding mike pretending to get his hands dirty a seal changed next thing it’s painted and sold nothing about the interior or anything else. Pure rubbish to Americanised getting to the point where am going to stop watching it. There’s to much American rubbish on tv about cars we want it back in Britain we’re it belongs. Not happy
